What are more similar to roller blades, Hockey skates or figure skates?

I am planning on learning to rollerblade, I am just really curious, what are closer to rollerblades in the feel and control white skating, hockey skates or figure skates?|||All ice skates have a pronounced rocker (curve in the blade so only part of it touches the ice).

Some Inline skates can be rockered for specific uses (freestyle, figure, hockey) but most are unrockered except that a small amount of rocker will be naturally created as the front and rear wheels wear.

Hockey skates have more rocker than figure skates, for some positions the rocker is higher than others.

Figure skates have more rocker towards the front for turning than the back.

Racing skates have less rocker than either.

Ice skates also have much less grip to the side than inline skates. The hollow of the blade sharpening for hockey skates gives more side grip than figure skates.

It is hard to say which one will feel (to you) closer to inline skates. It depends which (grip or rocker) is noticed by you more. I have considered getting a pair of used racing blades to mount on an older pair of inline boots (some of the better skates use the same mounting points for the frame that ice racing blades use.|||well i am pretty pro at rollerblading but i've never iceskated.

DO NOT get roller skates. get blades

If you wanna learn how to rollerblade, just go straight to blades. don't mess around on the ice

Park basketball courts are a nice and smooth spot to rollerblade. Gym floors are excellant. obvioulsy roller ranks. but since i was 6 the best and most fun way is to get some people and play street hockey. Get some cones for goals and some sticks. When cars come just kick the cones out of the way.

Street hockey is really fun and you get good at skating fast cus you turn around a lot

Learn to use the rubber break, to crossover both directions, but most importantly, most fun, and the hardest to do, learn to spin by putting the heel of one foot backwords against the heel of the other foot. I don't know how to explain it but it stops you very quickly
