What's the difference between field hockey, roller hockey & ice hockey?

Is it ALL just hockey with a hockey stick, only one uses roller skates, one uses ice skates %26amp; one is on the ground, on a field? And what's the difference between these sports %26amp; lacrosse?

Also, would anyone know where an 8 year old girl can play any of these sports (particularly field hockey or lacrosse) in Suffolk County, New York?

Thanks!|||the differences are that with ice hockey, you are obviously on the ice and you wear a helmet. Also; you have a different shaped stick. Field hockey is on the field/astro turf, you don't need a helmet, but a gumsheild/mouthguard, and the stick is again different. Roller hockey is on roller blades/skates and played with a stick nearer the shape of ice hockey than field.

The field hockey stick is more curved at the end and has a smaller end. Also; ice hockey is played with a puck, whereas field hockey is played with a ball.

x|||the rules are diffrent between all of them. for example rollar hockey and ice hockey have diffrent rules such as, there is icing in ice and no icing in rollar, there is offsides in ice and none in rollar. idk much about feild hockey cuz i dont play it. also the equimpment is diffrent in all of them. in ice hockey u need shoulder pads and in rollar u dont need shoulder pads or neckgaurd. in lacross u dont need elbow pads but in ice and roallar u do. and agian idk u need much eguimpment for feild hockey except for shin guards. so there are some diffrences but not many.|||well the difference is that field hockey tou play on the field then roller hockey you play in a rink but you are on wheels then ice you are in a rink but on ice and your skate is a blade not wheels|||When you get to high school , Sewanhaka HS in Floral Park has a great lacrosse team
